Our Design Process
Every project begins with listening. Rather than following a formula, I tailor the design process to your home, your lifestyle and the way you want to live. From the first conversation through to the final installation, I work with you on a one-to-one basis, creating interiors that are deeply personal and thoughtfully resolved.
Initial Consultation
We begin by meeting at your home or project site to understand the architecture, the setting and the opportunities within the space. We'll discuss your lifestyle, priorities, aesthetic preferences, budget and timeframe, establishing a clear foundation for the project.
Proposal & Scope
Following our meeting, you'll receive a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, design stages and a detailed fee estimate. The process is transparent and tailored specifically to your project, so you'll know exactly what is included before we begin. This covers an itemised estimation, space by space, of time we predict to complete your project. This will allow you to view a comprehensive breakdown of the scope of work and cost to ensure everything sits within your expectations.
Design Brief
This is where the creative direction takes shape. Together we refine the brief, exploring how you want your home to feel as well as how it needs to function. Every decision is informed by the people who live there—not a predetermined style.
Concept Design
I develop a cohesive design vision expressed through spatial planning, material palettes, colour, texture and carefully curated imagery. The concept establishes the atmosphere and design language that will guide every subsequent decision.
Interior Detailing
Once the concept is approved, the design is developed into a comprehensive interior package. This includes finishes, joinery, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware and detailed specifications that ensure every element works together seamlessly.
Furniture & Styling
The final layer brings warmth and individuality to the home. I curate furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, window treatments and artwork, combining bespoke pieces with carefully selected furnishings to create interiors with depth, longevity and character.
Procurement & Project Coordination
I manage the ordering and coordination of furnishings and work closely with trusted suppliers, makers and craftspeople throughout the process. With more than 20 years' experience, I help simplify what can otherwise be a complex and time-consuming project.
Installation & Completion
As the project comes together, I oversee the installation of furniture, styling and finishing details to ensure the completed home reflects the original vision. The result is an interior that feels effortless to live in because every detail has been thoughtfully considered.

An initial consultation is the ideal starting point for creating a home that is considered, personal and beautifully resolved.
Perhaps you are looking for expert direction on a particular room, seeking advice on materials and furnishings, or ready to embark on the larger undertaking of creating or renovating your home. Whatever the scale, the consultation is designed for clients who value their time, have high expectations and want experienced guidance from the outset.
During our one-to-one consultation, we will talk through your vision, lifestyle, personal taste, priorities, budget and timeframe. With more than 20 years’ experience and an architectural approach to interiors, I will identify opportunities, potential challenges and the key decisions that will shape your project.
Following the consultation, you will receive a written report outlining a clear path forward for your brief, budget and timeframe. It will highlight potential obstacles, provide considered recommendations and identify where my expertise can add the greatest value.
The aim is to give you clarity and confidence—whether you need a focused injection of design expertise or are considering a more comprehensive interior design service.
Initial consultations are $550 + GST and take approximately one hour at your home. This fee applies to consultations within the Auckland and Matakana areas. Consultations outside these areas can also be arranged.
Zoom consultations are available for clients seeking professional design direction and advice, wherever they are located.
